Our expansion on the Swedish market explained by its Country Manager

To support the development of our business in the Nordic market, we have opened an office in Gothenburg, Sweden. From there, Raphaëlle Bonnet, who is responsible for the region, is contributing to the expansion of LittleBig Connection. We spoke with her to better understand the specifics of this strategic market.

The Swedish economy, one of the most diversified in Europe

Sweden boasts a highly diversified economy, with 65% of its GDP coming from services, 34% from industry, and 19% from manufacturing. It is a leading country in sectors such as advanced manufacturing and engineering (Atlas Copco, Sandvik), information and telecommunications technology (Ericsson), and biotechnology and healthcare (Essity), making it a true hub of innovation and technological development.

The country is also renowned for its thriving tech ecosystem, having produced globally recognized unicorns such as Spotify, Klarna, and Mojang (creators of Minecraft).

Sweden is also a leader in sustainable technologies.

With this dynamic and diverse economic landscape, it is no surprise that the country attracts both large industrial players and startups.

Gothenburg, an economic capital at the heart of Northern Europe

Like Stockholm, which has focused on tech and retail, Gothenburg is an important industrial hub, as Raphaëlle explains: “You’ll find industrial giants like Siemens here, as well as companies such as Volvo Group, Volvo Cars, Scania, and Polestar in the automotive sector, which is a true economic and cultural pillar of the city.

Talking with the locals, it becomes clear that almost everyone, either directly or through a relative, has a connection with Volvo Group (Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Penta, etc.).”

This local presence is also why LittleBig Connection has established itself in Sweden. Having partnered with Volvo Group and Renault Trucks for several years, it was natural to strengthen this relationship by opening an office and providing local support.

The main challenge for companies in the automotive sector is fleet electrification. Indeed, Europe has recently become one of the world’s largest markets for electric vehicles, with a rapidly increasing market share. In 2023, about 1 in 5 new cars sold in Europe was electric. The automotive industry is addressing this challenge by heavily investing in tech and innovation, making the region a goldmine for niche professional services.

“At LittleBig Connection, we already have strong expertise in digital service and advanced engineering, particularly with our clients in France, and our goal is to bring this expertise locally here in Sweden,” says Raphaëlle.

Thanks to our network of local and international talents, we are able to respond quickly to all the needs of our Swedish and Nordic clients.

Sweden, a leader in sustainable development

Sweden is highly mature when it comes to environmental issues and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This has been a historical commitment since the 1960s. The country is even ranked in the top 5 of the Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index.

The government heavily subsidizes green initiatives, which accelerates transitions. Companies like SSAB and Vattenfall play key roles in the sustainable industry: SSAB is a pioneer in green steel production, while Vattenfall is one of the largest producers of clean energy in Europe.

Overall, this translates into sustainability-driven strategies across all businesses.

Through our Connect for Good expert community, LittleBig Connection also supports the sourcing of sustainability experts, contributing in its own way to the pioneering character of this country in addressing these critical environmental issues.

LittleBig Connection has a key role to play!

“We will continue to develop expert communities on key topics that are major challenges for the industry, particularly the automotive sector. Our expertise of over 10 years, combined with our international network, allows us to best support the dynamic Swedish market and explore neighboring Nordic markets.” concludes Raphaëlle.
